The Problem

If you are an organisation that hosts events, you know there are a lots of places you need to promote your events online. With Facebook, Twitter, and the multitude of listings sites it is very time consuming to post your events in all the relevant places. This is especially true if you are part of a business or organisation that hosts multiple events per month.

Vision

Richard Green is a non-technical entrepreneur who had an idea for a SAAS product that he knew he could make a success.

He had already worked for a startup in the events industry, and he thought there was a different approach to take to solve the problem of events promotion.

He believed there was an opportunity to create a product that was a single central place to manage your event promotion.

He had domain knowledge. What he needed was technical resources to execute on his ideas, to prove that he could make a successful business of it.

Our approach

We met with Richard, and quickly understood what he was trying to achieve, and together we defined an MVP for a SAAS app to get Richard to market as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Richard had spoken to other agencies, and had been quoted prices 4 times what we believed should be the budget for his MVP. (Agencies that don’t specialise in MVPs often overspecify the requirements in a way that significantly bloats the budget.)

As an agency that specialises in MVPs, we understand exactly what they do and do not need, and hence are often a lot cheaper.

We defined an MVP that would solve the most crucial problems of promoting events online, including capture of the event details, and distribution via API, email, and feeds. The aim was to build just enough of a product that his sales team could immediately start selling.

Results

We delivered the MVP in just a few weeks, and it started generating revenue from day one.

We continued developing and maintaining the SAAS app until the business grew to the extent it was time to hire a permanent development team. We told Richard when the time was right, and assisted him in that process.

Now, evvnt is a profitable business. With over 10 permanent staff.

We still do occasional ‘special projects’ for evvnt, and we consider them our first big success.
